The Global Library’s ever-expanding print collection thrives on faculty-curated selections and generous donations. Each year, we enrich our collection with over 3,000 new books, carefully selected by our faculty and scholars. Additionally, generous donations from patrons further enhance the diversity and scope of our collection. As of February 19, 2025, our collection has grown to over 80,000 books. We have displayed the books in the Central Hall (T2-F2 Sajjan Jindal Block), Imaginarium (Faculty Offices Block), and Samvaad (Faculty Lounge).

Our collection spans a wide range of subjects within the Social Sciences and Humanities, encompassing the disciplines taught at JGU. You can explore the online public access catalog, which reflects the Global Library’s print holdings.

How to recommend books

All members of the JGU community are welcome to recommend books for the Global Library by filling up the standard recommendation form. Or, the members can send a mail to libraryacquisitions@jgu.edu.in with details of the books that library must have.

Bookshop

The Knowledge Studio, JGU’s bookstore located at the entrance of Gate No. 1, offers an extensive selection of books. JGU community members may submit book recommendations for the library via a form available within the store.

Textbooks/Course materials

Faculty members are requested to submit the details of prescribed textbooks well in advance of the semester’s start. This allows us sufficient time to determine the number of copies required, procure the titles, and make them available to students in a timely manner
