Course Reserves
The Global Library manages a Course Reserves service, which provides students with access to essential materials specifically selected by instructors for their courses. These reserved items, which largely include textbooks, are set aside to ensure their constant availability and to support students’ academic success.
Course Reserves are for in-library use only.
Textbooks lending
We recommend that students who are able to purchase the recommended textbooks do so, as these resources are essential for reference, study, and success in critical assignments and exams. For affordable options, visit Knowledge Studio—the JGU bookshop—where textbooks are available at discounted rates.
However, to ensure equitable access, the Global Library provides a textbook lending service for students who are unable to purchase their own copies. We maintain a limited number of prescribed textbooks available for loan. You can visit the Textbook Library, located near the West Entrance of the Global Reading Room, to borrow textbooks.
Electronic books
On certain occasions, the library has identified the need to provide additional support to students and has responded by purchasing electronic versions (e-books) of textbooks. This step ensures that a wider range of students can access these essential resources, regardless of physical or financial limitations. For more information, please contact the library helpdesk.
